Bay Roan Dales Pony Stallion Coverdales Carnival King

King is a Section A Dales Pony Stallion licensed and registered by the Dales Pony Society in the UK, and the Haras Nationaux in France. He arrived at the Kingmaker Stud in January 2010 and his first purebred foals were born in Spring 2011.

King is the only licensed bay roan Dales Pony stallion in the world. We are thus delighted to welcome such an exciting addition to our stud.

Besides his unique colour status and interesting bloodlines, King has good conformation with a beautiful head, which he has stamped on all of his foals to date. He stands just over 14.2hh and has an exceptional temperament. He is very people-orientated, and gentle with his mares.

King possesses a phenomenal trot with excellent knee and hock action. He is a natural show-off, combining powerful forward drive with athleticism, stamina and presence. 

King was broken to drive as a three year old, then turned-away to mature. We will use him principally as a breeding stallion, and plan to resume his driving career.

King is heterozygous for the true/classic roan gene, so there is a 50% chance of him throwing rare roan foals to our black or bay mares.
