Beth arrived at the Kingmaker Stud in December 2014. We had been looking for a GREY Dales mare to add to our breeding program for a couple of years, and were attracted by Beth's Whitworth bloodlines which are becoming increasingly rare in the breed. She has settled very quickly into her new home in France and has fast become one of our favourite mares thanks to her extremely kind and gentle nature.
Beth is broken to ride and has bred 2 foals in the UK in the past.
Her first foal Argill Lady Jane is grey, whereas her second foal Coleshill May Blossom inherited Beth's rare SEAL-BROWN base-coat colour.
Beth is heterozygous for the seal-brown gene (At) but it cannot be seen in her own coat because the grey gene is dominant and masks all underlying colours.
There is a 50:50 chance that Beth will produce GREY foals when mated to either of our stallions.
